Your stuck with a Pikachu (for the millionth time) with no option to change. I was done with this game before I even started. It’s a waste of time because you can only have a Pikachu. With over 800 Pokémon they could’ve put effort into having a variety

I am a huge fan of any Pokémon games and with a new one to play on my phone I couldn’t be happier. The only thing I don’t really like about it is I can’t seems to see my opponents levels and strength. So I don’t really know what level my Pokémon should be on to go against them.

Brings back a lot of memories and isn’t a rip off. Very fun story which isn’t a surprise when it comes to the Pokémon company.
  • One glaring issue in my opinion!!!

I have one major issue with this game and that is the separation of paid and earned gems when it comes to purchasing the scouting. If thats the case make the “paid” option cheaper.... not $30.

I wasn’t expecting to become as hooked on this game as I am, but this game is way more easy to get the hang of than it seems. The gameplay is fun, the characters are lovable, and the story is lighthearted. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an experience better than the typical mobile game.

  • Extremely Fun and Unique Twist on the Pokémon Series

I have been playing this game since it’s release and let me tell you, overall, this game is very fun and looks fantastic! The game’s animations, cut scenes, story lines, and game mechanics are very well developed and keep the player emerged in the game. All moves used by the Pokémon are either very similar or identical to their equivalent in the main series. Overall this game is a must play and one of the most fun grindable mobile games out there today. You really don’t have to pay to win in this game. A few things I’d like to see improved with the game, hence the current 4 star review, are: 1. The inclusion of a retry button during and after battles. This will keep the players from having to exit all the way out to the Pokémon Center and back into their story mode or trainings. 2. More opportunities to farm coins. Currently the only way to get coins is through special events which only come around occasionally and the number of times you can play each event is capped at 3. It would be really nice to see either a full game type dedicated to coins or eliminate this 3 plays limit on the coin events. 3. Incorporate an exchange all button in the exchange item shop. This will eliminate the need for redundant selections, such as the x10 exchange buttons, clean up the interface, and significantly improve the experience for the players in the exchange shop. There not much worse than having to “grind” on exchanging items. These are the 3 main issues I have with the game. If I find more, or if the developers address the issues I stated, I will update the review. Overall though, this is still an amazing mobile game and I encourage everyone to give it a try. It doesn’t take that long to level up your Pokémon and acquire new Pokémon on F2P which is nice. **Update** After another week of playing the game, I have realized that there is one more thing I would like to see done with the game that is related to action items 2 and 3 above. 4. Evolution Crystals are too difficult to obtain. I have been playing the game for 17 days (every day since release) now, completed the main story mode, and have obtained enough tickets from the two events to buy all the big items (three 5-Star Power Ups, two replay tickets, two Gym Leader Notes). I have 51 different trainers / Pokémon and have leveled up 7 trainers over level 70 (and obtained all moves / passives for them). After all this I have only obtained enough coins to buy 1 evolution crystal... you need three just to evolve a single Pokémon! That is a bit absurd if you ask me. Either each Pokémon should only need one or the coins required to buy a crystal should be reduced to maybe like 100,000 each. Also, evolution shards only cost 10,000 coins and you get 5 of them! From the pictures of both evolution shards and crystals, it takes 6 shards to create a crystal, so it may make sense to allow multiple evolution shards to be combined to make an evolution crystal. One idea I had was to make each shard 10k coins and require 6 shards to make a crystal. Then to obtain 3 evolution crystals and evolve a Pokémon would only cost 180,000 coins. Much more reasonable. Hopefully this review reaches the developers so that can make improvements to the game, even if they aren’t exactly what I have proposed. I really want to see this game do well and have people playing for more than a couple days. Thank you!
